Chunky Crochet Cowl

This quick cowl pattern works up quickly into a warm snuggly soft cowl. This pattern consists of an easy to do starting chain and hdc stitches worked into the back loop.

 

How to hdc - half double crochet.

Yarn over, push hook thru loop, pull yarn back thru all three loops.

6mm - J/10 crochet hook

Medium or Worsted , Aran, 10 ply yarn

 

Yarn used in example

Weight: 100g

Material: Acrylic 75%, Wool 25%

2 x skeins of 210m each

Pattern Instructions

Chain 161

Row 1, in the second chain on hook, works 1hdc into each stitch until the end of row, ch1, counts as turning chain.

Row2, chain 1,counts and first leg of row,  1 hdc into the back loop of the next stitch of the hdc of row before,repeat into each stitch until end of row, ch1 counts as turning chain.

Row 4 to 16
chain 1,counts and first leg of row,  1 hdc into the back loop of the next stitch of the hdc of row before,repeat into each stitch until end of row, ch1 counts as turning chain.

Finish off and work in ends

To complete the cowl, work the two shorts side together using leftover yarn and a yarn needle.
