Nine Super Cute Easter Chicks Blanket Crochet Squares

Everyone loves Easter and everyone loves c2c crochet squares so let's mix it up with some delightfully cute baby chick crochet squares.

The crochet c22 pattern bundle includes 9 x cute Easter-themed baby chicks c2c squares, which can easily be combined into a beautiful afghan. Alternatively, each individual square can be used for crochet pillows, cushions, and any home decor project.

  • Corner-to-Corner Graph Squares Layout : 25 x 25 Squares
  • Example Square size is worked in Double knit yarn using a 3mm crochet hook, using double crochet stitches.

  • Size of finished square : 13 x 13 inches / 34.5 x 34.5 cm

  • Estimate blanket size is : 40 x 40 inches / 100 x 100 cm - excluding border.

C2c Crochet Squares the Basics

To crochet a Corner to Corner (C2C) project, you'll increase a square ( also referred to as blocks)

in each row by chaining 3, work 3 double crochet sts in the chain space, and slip stitching to the next block.

1. Starting a C2C Project (Increase)

Ch 3: Chain 3 stitches.

3 Double Crochets ( 3dc ): Work 3 double crochets into the same chain space.

Slip Stitch (sl st): Slip the stitch into the top of the next block.

Repeat: Repeat the previous steps (Ch 3, 3 dc, sl st) across the row.

2. Increasing Rows:

Ch 3: Chain 3 stitches.

3 dc: Work 3 double crochet sts into the chain space.

Sl st: Slip stitch into the top of the next block.

Repeat: Repeat the previous steps (Ch 3, 3 dc, sl st) across the row.

Turn: Turn your work and repeat the process for the next row, adding a new block on each side.

3. Decreasing Rows:

Turn: Turn your work to the left, so the working yarn is in front of the stitches.

Slip stitch: Slip stitch up the side of the block.

Ch 3: Chain 3 stitches.

3 dc: Work 3 double crochet sts in the chain space.

Sl st: Slip stitch into the top of the next block.

Repeat: Repeat the previous steps (Ch 3, 3 dc, sl st) across the row.

Turn: Turn your work and repeat the process for the next row, decreasing one block on each side
