Materials you will need to create this 8-petal crochet flower square

  • Worsted weight yarn, in the yarn colors of your choice.
  • Use a crochet hook which is specified by your yarn label, for this example I used a 4.5mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle, for weaving in ends

The example square is worked up in a 4.5mm crochet hook,on average using 5 skeins of yarn of 100m / 109 yards of yarn you can easily create 3 to 4 9-inch crochet flower squares.

1sc in magic ring, ch2, counts as the first dc st, 1 dc in the same space, counts as the second dc for dc2tog, ch 2,*dc2tog, ch 2, into magic ring, repeat 6 more times, join with sl into the top of starting ch stitch, pull the tail of the magic ring to close the loop and finish off color.
(8 x dc2tog, ch2, sts)

Round 2

Join new color with 1sc, in 2ch-sp from the round before, ch2 counts as the first hdc, 3 hdc in the same space, ch 2, *4 hdc in 2ch-sp, ch2, repeat from * around, join with sl into the top of the starting chain stitch, and finish off color.
(8 x 4hdc in 2chsp, ch2) 

Round 3

Join new color with 1sc, in 2ch-sp from the round before, ch2 counts as the first hdc, 1 dc in same space, ch2, 2dc in the same ch-sp,*2 dc, ch2, 2dc in next ch-sp, repeat from * around, join with sl into the top of the starting chain stitch, and finish off color.

Round 4
