Pretty Little Crochet Hearts
Submitted on Tue, 02/21/2023 - 19:19Small crochet hearts are adorable, and great when you feel the need to share some love. Stitch them into a garland for some decorations, or add some beadwork for a pretty bookmark, I love making a few with leftover yarn, and add a handwritten note for those random acts of crochet kindness days, where you just want to make someone's day.
A quick crochet heart pattern that can be used for any decorative project where one needs a pretty little heart, they make the perfect small handmade gift for school projects, parties, weddings, and engagements.
Make personal handmade cards by adding small crochet hearts on Valentine's or Mothersday card.
This easy-to-make, 4-row heart crochet pattern, which works up quickly.
This pattern is written in standard US crochet terminology.
I used DK - double knit craft cotton yarn for these crochet hearts, with a 3mm hook size on a yarn requirement of 3.5mm yarn hook as it makes the heart stiffer and can easily be made as a handout or bookmark.
The pattern is written for using one color yarn and no color changing, but colors can be changed between rows.
Using a 3mm hook the finished heart size is 8 cm x 10 cm.

is normally applied in the small space between two stitches rather than crocheting through crochet loops, completed stitch is normally a little shorter than a normal crochet stitch, and the overall spaces between stitches become more open.
chain : most crochet projects start off with a chain, either a chain into a magic ring for rounds or a base or foundation chain for a rowed crochet project, chain can also mean chains within a pattern row, where either a single chain is worked or a number of chains is crocheted, between stitches.
