Ultimate Stitch Sampler Blanket – Photo References for Rows 27–39
Stouto Crochet Tutorial

This guide provides additional visual help for following the written pattern, checking stitch placement, and maintaining straight blanket edges as you work through this section.

Pay particular attention to stitch counts, skipped stitches, chain spaces, shell stitches, and front post double crochet V-stitches. Some rows have different beginnings and endings, so it is important to follow both the written instructions and the stitch diagrams carefully.

ABOUT

.

Follow these photo references alongside the written instructions for Rows 27–39 of the Ultimate Stitch Sampler Blanket. These visual guides will help you check stitch placement, understand shell stitches and front post double crochet V-stitches, and maintain an even stitch count throughout your work.

Pay special attention to skipped stitches, chain spaces, and the beginning and end of each row to help keep your blanket edges straight.

Tip: Always use the written pattern as your primary reference and consult the photographs whenever you need additional help understanding a stitch or pattern repeat.

Important: The written pattern remains your primary reference. Use the photographs alongside the instructions to check your work and identify any stitches or spaces that may be difficult to recognise.

TERMINOLOGY DECODED

US vs. UK Stitch Translation Matrix

Never let terminology ruin a project. In US terms, stitches are named after the yarn overs; in UK terms, stitches are named after the loops on your hook.

STEP-BY-STEP CROCHET GUIDE

Step-by-Step

Browse through each row below or follow along round-by-round at your own pace.

Row 35: Maintaining Straight Blanket Edges

Row 35 differs slightly from Rows 33 and 37. Follow the written instructions and stitch diagram carefully.

The first three dc stitches of the six-dc shell are worked at the beginning of the row, while the remaining three dc stitches are worked at the end of the row.

This arrangement is important for keeping the stitch pattern balanced and the blanket edges straight.

Do not assume that Row 35 is worked in exactly the same way as Row 33. Check the placement of the first and last shell stitches before proceeding.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Ultimate Stitch Sampler Rows 27–39 photo guide?

This photo guide provides visual references to help you follow Rows 27–39 of the Ultimate Stitch Sampler Blanket. Use it alongside the written pattern to understand stitch placement, pattern repeats, and changes at the beginning and end of each row.

Do I need the written pattern to use this photo guide?

Yes. The photographs are intended to support the written pattern, not replace it. Follow the written instructions for stitch counts, repeats, and stitch placement, and use the photos to help clarify the instructions.

Why should I check my stitch count for Rows 26 and 27?

Checking your stitch count helps you identify mistakes before moving on to the next section. Incorrect stitch counts can affect the shape of your blanket and make later pattern repeats more difficult to follow.

What should I watch for in Rows 28–30?

These rows alternate between half double crochet stitches and chain spaces. Pay attention to the skipped stitches and follow the written pattern carefully to maintain the correct stitch placement.

What is a front post double crochet V-stitch?

A front post double crochet V-stitch is made by working a front post double crochet around the post of the indicated stitch, chaining one, and working another front post double crochet around the same post. This creates a V-shaped stitch around the post rather than into the top loops of the stitch.

Why are Rows 33–38 important for keeping my blanket straight?

These rows include shell stitches, front post V-stitches, and variations in how stitches are worked at the beginning and end of a row. Pay particular attention to Row 35 and Row 36, as their placement differs from neighbouring rows. Follow both the written instructions and the corresponding diagrams.

What should I do if the edges of my blanket start looking uneven?

Check your stitch count, skipped
