Joining the Squares
After completing the boxed frame on all squares:
1. Squares are first joined into long vertical or horizontal strips
2. Once the strips are complete, an additional design element is worked to join these strips together into the full blanket layout
3. After all strips are joined, the blanket can be extended if desired, followed by a thick framed outer border to finish the design
