I’ve used this versatile 12-petal flower motif in several of my designs, including the popular Gazania Tote Bag, but today we’ll focus on this bold and beautiful blanket square.
About This Pattern
About the Gazania Flower Square
This large granny square pattern is worked in the round and combines classic crochet stitches with textured front-post stitches for a raised, petal-like effect. The square measures generously and makes a stunning feature piece whether used in a blanket, a bag, or even a garment.
Because Gazanias are naturally vivid, don’t be afraid to experiment with color. Bold contrasts really make this square shine, but it also looks beautiful in softer palettes for a more subtle floral design.
This makes the Gazania Square flexible for many projects – from lightweight summer throws to cozy winter afghans.
