African Flowers Patchwork is a large crochet afghan and this blanket incorporates flower squares designed by me to pay tribute to the beauty of my country. Each crochet flower square is inspired by the flowers that bloom in my native country South Africa. In total, this afghan consists of eight different flower granny squares, four large squares, and 4 small squares, each with a unique style, I am forever grateful to be living in such a beautiful country, we are surrounded by so much natural beauty.

Nature has always been my biggest inspiration when making crochet blankets, and with the natural abundance of colors, I have been able to find encouragement to capture the beauty of each flower. This example afghan is made up of a multitude of bold and bright colors, so don't be afraid to use your favorite colors when creating the beautiful heirloom blanket.

The printable template includes an all-year-round calendar and you can choose to start any day of the year, as well as a color swatch template that allows you to choose your temperature range.

I have tried my hand at a temperature blanket a few times, and it was either too long or to short, so I finally put pen to paper and designed this fun crochet pattern, this temperature blanket pattern is made up of 30+ mixed crochet stitch patterns, and ends up into a usable sized crochet bedspread blanket or throw.

This crochet temperature blanket pattern includes an additional planning calendar where you can record the yearly temperatures for a special year like a pregnancy or anniversary, birth or graduation year.

When I first launched my pattern, it was almost a fearful response of crocheters being intimidated by the difficulty of a flower crochet pattern, and honestly in my mind, working in the round, making granny squares, and the simplest easiest form of learning crochet.
