Crochet projects for Yarn Stash and scraps
Submitted on Sat, 05/14/2022 - 00:17
No matter how big or small your stash here are some crochet ideas
We all have that bag, carton, tub, or box, among our yarn stash, that has a few or even more than a few balls of leftover yarn from previously completed crochet projects, those leftovers which is not enough of one type of color for one large project, or just too much for a small project.
Some odd balls of yarn where perhaps the color's might not seem to match or work together too well , or a goodwill haul, which might have seemed like a good deal and bargain, but are now not seemingly not playing well with the other stach mates, this pattern even helps with that odd bag off hand me down yarn balls, from someone who knew a friend, who had a friend, that used to be part of the crochet movements.

Flower Granny Square Blanket -African Patchwork Afghan
African Flowers Patchwork is a large crochet afghan and this blanket incorporates flower squares designed by me to pay tribute to the beauty of my country. Each crochet flower square is inspired by the flowers that bloom in my native country South Africa. In total, this afghan consists of eight different flower granny squares, four large squares, and 4 small squares, each with a unique style, I am forever grateful to be living in such a beautiful country, we are surrounded by so much natural beauty.
Nature has always been my biggest inspiration when making crochet blankets, and with the natural abundance of colors, I have been able to find encouragement to capture the beauty of each flower. This example afghan is made up of a multitude of bold and bright colors, so don't be afraid to use your favorite colors when creating the beautiful heirloom blanket.

The Protea Flower Square is the first large square in my My African Garden Patchwork Afghan.
When I first launched my pattern, it was almost a fearful response of crocheters being intimidated by the difficulty of a flower crochet pattern, and honestly in my mind, working in the round, making granny squares, and the simplest easiest form of learning crochet.
