Pattern Instructions
Construction Overview
Quick Guide: How to Crochet a Corner-to-Corner (C2C) Square
Corner-to-Corner crochet is worked diagonally from one corner of the square to the other using small double crochet blocks.
Step 1 – Make the First Block
Chain six. Work one double crochet into the fourth chain from the hook and one double crochet into each of the remaining two chains.
Step 2 – Increase
Continue increasing one block at the beginning of every row until your square measures 25 × 25 blocks.
Step 3 – Follow the Graph
Work the colour changes shown on the graph while following the written row-by-row instructions below.
Step 4 – Decrease
Once you've reached the widest point of the square, begin decreasing each row until only one block remains.
Step 5 – Finish
Fasten off, weave in your yarn ends and lightly block the square before joining it with your other animal squares.
